It's time to put on the big boy pants and have a mature discussion about the benefits of legalizing marijuana. Aside from the health benefits of medical marijuana, the benefits of legalizing pot FAR outweigh the perceived dangers. It's amazing that we're in the 21st century and we're still battling Reefer Madness ideology. I break down the benefits of legalizing marijuana down to these basic reasons:
Did you know that the DEA categorizes marijuana as a Schedule I narcotic? So that means these bureaucrats in our federal government considers marijuana to have the highest potential of abuse, with no recognized medical use in treatment. It is put in the same category as heroin.
Are you kidding me?
Did you also know that ATF agents were ordered to allow US guns into the hands of Mexican drug cartels? Yep. The multi-billion dollar a year war on drugs is being fueled by our own government. Why? Because there's too much money to be made. And it's always about the Benjamins.
"Wachovia admitted it didn’t do enough to spot illicit funds in handling $378.4 billion for Mexican-currency-exchange houses from 2004 to 2007. That’s the largest violation of the Bank Secrecy Act, an anti-money-laundering law, in U.S. history -- a sum equal to one-third of Mexico’s current gross domestic product."
Wells Fargo, Wachovia's new owner, paid a $160 million fine. That's a 0.04% fine.
"Wells Fargo regrets that some of Wachovia’s former anti-money-laundering efforts fell short, spokeswoman Mary Eshet says."
She "regrets?"
There are thousands of innocent people are being tortured, murdered and terrorized every year because of this fake "war on drugs." The idiots in our government are supporting both sides of this fraud. It's as fake as pro-wrestling.
Total Body Count for Calderon's drug war through 2010: 34,849
Total Body Count for Calderon's drug war to date: 36,713
Sounds an awful lot like the Iran-Contra affair, in which the U.S. government sold weapons through Israel to Iran in exchange for hostages. Basically arming the very "terrorists" we were fighting. The proceeds of which would be used to finance the Nicaraguan Contras.
